In der Reihe 'Search and Research' werden Vorträge, Forschungsberichte und Symposien veröffentlicht, die im Rahmen des 'Yad Vashem International Institute for Holocaust Research' entstanden sind. Darüber hinaus gibt die Reihe den im Umfeld des Instituts agierenden Wissenschaftlern eine Plattform, innovative Forschungsansätze und erste Ergebnisse zu veröffentlichen. 'Search and Research' erscheint seit 2001 und ist überwiegend englischsprachig (einzelne Bände erscheinen auf Hebräisch). Jetzt erstmals für den deutschsprachigen Markt über den Wallstein Verlag zu beziehen. Jan Grabowski untersucht das Phänomen der bezahlten Überlebenshilfe für verfolgte polnische Juden und die Motivation der polnischen Helfer. Nicht selten sahen sich die verfolgten Juden einer ebenfalls lebensbedrohlichen Ausbeutung ausgesetzt.
