Beschreibung
How do we talk about the human body in philosophy, philosophy didactics and general pedagogy? In these disciplines thinking about the bodily constitution of the human being is dominated by a concept of the body that starts from Merleau-Ponty's phenomenology of perception. Under this focus, however, experiences of alienation that have as their object one's own body in its materiality are hardly addressed at all, or only in a pathologising way. The book contrasts this with an existentialist-phenomenological perspective that can be used to thematise experiences that have hardly been grasped so far. Such experiences are those of one's own body in its material existence - which should find their way into philosophical education.
