Beschreibung
As of 1935 the National Socialist government installed financial departments in many of the evangelical ecclesiastic administrations. Soon, the government decided to extend its area of influence to the churches and started to wield power in churchly issues. By doing so, the government threatened the sovereignty and independency of the church itself. Hauke Marahrens emblazes the practice of the financial departments by means of the churches of Hannover, Braunschweig and Baden.
