STEVEN HELLER served as senior art director of the New York Times Book Review. He is currently co-chair of the School of Visual Arts MFA design program as well as Editor of the AIGA Journal of Graphic Design. He has written over 130 books on design and has been a contributor or contributing editor to nearly twenty-five magazines, including Print, Eye, and Baseline. He writes the "Visuals" column for the New York Times Book Review and "Graphic Content" for T: The New York Times Style Magazine online. TERESA FERNANDES is the principal of TFD Studio in Connecticut and an art director at The Taunton Press, Inc.
